14″-15″ Handmade Necklace Charitable – Limited Quantity

Alice Kajoina, who resides in Uganda, is the artist behind these necklaces. Each necklace set is a collection of hand-rolled beads which are made from recycled paper.  By purchasing this necklace set, you are helping Alice and her community. She writes:

“Lacking a steady market for my handcrafts makes it hard to plan for meeting the ongoing challenge of paying school and medical fees for the children and community I care for. Through this necklace, you have supported me, which helps me support many others. I believe it is important to love people and work for peace.”

Paper is cut into long strips and individually hand-rolled and sealed with clear varnish. Small glass brass-toned beads are used as spacers. The colors you see are the colors that are on the paper. No two beads are exactly alike. The process of creating a piece of beaded jewelry takes about a week. Alice prays and sings as she transforms wastepaper into treasure.  Jewelry comes with a note from Rachel explaining the friendship and creation behind each work of art so every recipient knows Alice's story of strength.

The price is for 1 necklace with 2 strands each; colors are chosen at random.  One size fits most - approximately 14-15" in length.  Because these items ship from Africa and support a charitable cause, all sales are final.  US Domestic shipping only.  Limited Quantity
